Newmark Strengthens Mid-Atlantic Team with Appointment of Carolyn Bates as Regional Research Director
Washington, DC (September 12, 2023) — Newmark announces the addition of Carolyn Bates as the Regional Research Director for the Mid-Atlantic region. In her role, Bates will provide insights into economic and real estate trends, oversee statistical data collection and analysis and drive thought leadership initiatives to support Newmark’s Mid-Atlantic markets. Based in Washington, D.C., she leads a team of researchers covering the D.C., Baltimore and Greater Philadelphia markets.

Bates brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She joins Newmark after serving as an advisory consultant at Avison Young. Before that, Carolyn was Vice President of Research at Bridge Investment Group in Salt Lake City, specifically focused on Office, Industrial, Net Lease and Affordable Housing funds. Earlier in her career, she spent six years at JLL, eventually co-leading the Midwest market research division. Her background includes valuable experience in economic development for the Minneapolis-St. Paul region, where she developed a keen appreciation for the intersection of place and people.
