Introducing Jen Devor: PACT’s New VP of Business Development and Operations
We are thrilled to welcome Jen Devor as the new Vice President of Business Development and Operations at PACT. With a rich background in business development, leadership, and a deep commitment to the Greater Philadelphia region, Jen brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the PACT team. In this Q&A blog post, Jen shares insights into her journey, her excitement for the future, and her thoughts on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry today.
Q: What drew you to join the PACT staff? What got you excited about it?
Jen: I’ve spent nearly a decade working in the same spaces as PACT and have always been impressed by its impact on the region. I admire Dean and his team, and I’m eager to use my leadership skills to help drive PACT forward. The future holds great opportunities, and I’m excited to be part of the team delivering those opportunities to our members.
Q: What’s your work journey been like? Any cool stories along the way?
Jen: My diverse background spans a degree from the University of the Arts, an early career in advertising, and a pivotal shift to the nonprofit sector, where I focused on business development and advancement for membership organizations. I even took a bold leap by running for public office—a wild ride that shaped my leadership approach. Since my campaign ended in 2019, I’ve led high-performing teams and driven change, always with a commitment to serving the Greater Philadelphia region. I’m excited to continue this journey with PACT and contribute to its future success.
Q: What are you most pumped about doing in your new role?
Jen: I have a genuine passion for meeting new people and learning their stories. I’m excited to support the dedicated team at PACT who make everything happen, and I can’t wait to serve our members and community partners.
Q: What do you think are the toughest challenges in the industry right now? Any big opportunities?
Jen: The most significant challenges are also our most enormous opportunities. We’re navigating hurdles like access to funding, talent retention, and scaling startups, but the potential here is immense. The region’s strengths in life sciences, health tech, and smart city initiatives, combined with the rise of remote work, position us to attract top talent and drive innovation forward. I also believe there is a huge motivation for corporate partnerships in this space, and I look forward to bringing those opportunities to the table on behalf of PACT.
Q: When you’re not working, how do you like to unwind and have fun?
Jen: I love to visit other cities, sing karaoke, and watch my daughter play roller derby. I live in the city with my family and spend a lot of time with friends, going to parks and restaurants, and taking advantage of all that Philly has to offer.
