Call for Entries: Pepperdine Most Fundable Companies
Our friends at the Graziadio Business School of Pepperdine University have opened entries to their 4th annual competition to identify America’s Most Fundable Companies. We invite all U.S. based start-ups with less than $10 million in revenue to participate. The competition employs a 20-year proven and proprietary due diligence process to determine the winners.
In 2020, Pepperdine selected twenty winners from among 4,500+ participants from all 50 states. The winners had a broad geographic representation (13 states) including two from New Jersey, three from New York, and one from Pennsylvania. A wide range of industries including: materials science, e-commerce, environmental, & biotech were recognized. Click here for the list of 2020 winners.
The Pennsylvania winner is a PACT member, ExpressCells. ExpressCells is a revenue-generating genetic engineering company that creates knock-in cell lines for biological research more quickly than competing technologies and enabling better experiments.
Participants in the competition receive a feedback report on their attractiveness to potential investors at no cost. As noted by Matt Handel, CEO of ExpressCells: “The process was very helpful in that it raised many good questions that needed to be answered and helped ExpressCells to strengthen its business plan.”
Since its inception, winners in the Most Fundable Companies Competition have leveraged their award to receive over $67 million in funding. As Mr. Handel stated: “The awareness generated by the competition and the connection with several west coast angel groups helped us to have an oversubscribed Series A extension.”
The 2021 competition is kicking off right now and the awards ceremony is scheduled for mid-October. Winners will be featured in Entrepreneur™ Magazine in December. There is no cost to participate.
