Alternative Modes of Funding

Funding for start-ups in healthcare and life sciences is a challenge today. This has been driven by a higher interest rate environment, regulatory uncertainty, and consolidation. Since its peak in 2020-2021, the number of private financings in this sector have declined. What are the implications to the entrepreneurial and investing communities and what are the solutions?  Investors and founders know they must be more creative in finding resources. Join us as we explore non-traditional funding sources such as philanthropic, state governments, public/private partnerships to bridge the funding gap.

Panelists:

TECHNOLOGY

5th Floor, Salon B-C

Scaling in the New Technological Era: People, Product & Process

Artificial intelligence and other new technologies are rewriting the rules of scale.

For founders, this means rethinking how to grow leaner, faster, and smarter. For investors, it’s about spotting the signals that indicate which companies will thrive — and which won’t. This panel brings together leading investors, entrepreneurs, and

operators to explore:

  • How teams are achieving more with fewer resources by embedding technology into daily operations
  • How entrepreneurs can translate technology advancements into compelling stories for capital, and how investors can sharpen their ability to identify scalable, defensible innovations
  • How AI is reshaping scaling processes and exit pathways — giving both founders and investors clearer roadmaps to successful growth and liquidity outcomes

Whether you’re deploying capital or raising it, expect candid insights, practical frameworks, and forward-looking strategies to help both sides of the table navigate the opportunities and challenges of scaling in today’s technological era.
