PACT Announces Featured Companies and Final Keynote for the IMPACT 2014 Capital Conference

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 10, 2014The Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) announced the final keynote speaker to its IMPACT agenda, Bill McDermott, chief executive officer of SAP, as well as the 45 companies  selected to present at the IMPACT 2014 Capital Conference on Oct. 28 and 29 at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia.

This year’s featured companies represent some of the most promising in the Mid-Atlantic region. The lineup includes 17 early-stage companies, 12 technology companies and 17 health care companies, including six in the health care information technology space.

The IMPACT 2014 Capital Conference also added SAP CEO Bill McDermott to its roster of well-known keynote speakers, including former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and five-time Olympic swimming medalist, Dara Torres.

Bill McDermott is CEO and executive board member of SAP, the world’s business software market leader with more than 250,000 customers in 188 countries. He leads the company’s 66,500 employees and 2+ million person ecosystem in executing SAP’s vision and strategy to make the world run better and improve people’s lives. Under McDermott’s leadership, in 2014 SAP unveiled a strategy to help businesses of all sizes simplify everything.

McDermott has more than three decades of experience in business technology. He joined SAP in 2002 to lead the business in North America and has steadily risen to his current role as CEO. He is a passionate believer in engaging up-and-coming young leaders and has been recognized by organizations ranging from City Year of Greater Philadelphia to the Children’s Aid Society of New York City.

This year’s conference agenda also features numerous panel presentations, including a panel of the top VCs from outside the region discussing their Philadelphia transactions; a presentation of “Greater Philadelphia Digital Health – A Magnet of Opportunity,” a comprehensive analysis of the digital health opportunity in the region; and early-stage, healthcare and technology panels.
