Tesorio’s algorithm calculates this percentage to be win-win: fair for the supplier to forgo and valuable for the buyer to earn given their respective costs of capital.

Rescufy (AppItUP Winner)

Rescufy was created by David and Rachel Edwards who were inspired by their son, Sammy, to simplify the standard anaphylaxis action plan. Sammy has a life threatening tree nut allergy, and they developed Rescufy so they would have a simple, fast, and reliable tool to streamline getting help in the event of anaphylaxis.

With the touch of a button, Rescufy will send critical information including geo-location, medical condition, medical history, medications, and contact information to first responders and emergency contacts. It will also auto dial 911 with a voice recording of the same information should the user be impaired by his/her condition. Rescufy simplifies the process of notifying first responders and emergency contacts, compresses time, creates redundancy, offers peace of mind, and simplifies the action plan which in turn will saves lives!


AppItUP is a new mobile application idea challenge designed to gather the best app ideas from the Penn community and connect them with the funding and technical expertise necessary to make them a reality. AppItUP is a brain child of the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Technology Transfer and UPstart program.
